The low-down on the wines...

Loire Valley, often referred to as “The Garden of France”, is renowned for its wine growing and gastronomy as well as famous castles and its magnificent abbeys.  Great diversity among backdrops, soil composition and climate enable Loire’s portfolio to be one of the richest, most unique and complete selections of wines. Be they red, rosé or white; still or sparkling; dry or semi-dry, supple or sweet, Loire Wines rank among the very best vintages and enjoy great prestige.

Bouvet-Ladubay, Saumur, Brut, NV – The second oldest sparkling wine producer from Saumur in the Loire, Bouvet Ladubay is made by the traditional method, but from Chenin Blanc grapes, it is of excellent quality. Fruity aromas and florals on the nose. Fine and persistent bubbles. Honeysuckle, acacia and bruised apples on the palate, it is a very elegant sparkling wine.

Saumur Champigny, Tuffe, Chateau du Hureau, 2014 – This Cabernet Franc based Loire wine is crafted from fifteen different batches of old and young vines grown on the distinctive free-draining tuffeau soils of the Loire. Scents of wild flowers and thyme meld with sweet mulberry fruit to produce a flavoursome palate and a lingering finish. Deeply coloured yet almost without tannin, this is a soft sumptuous and thoroughly enjoyable wine.

Coteaux du Layon, Chaume, Domaine des Forges, 2015 – A luscious sweet wine with balancing freshness. Chenin Blanc grapes are carefully vinified at cool temperatures in vats and oak barrels, ensuring a wonderful combination of fruity sweetness and bright fresh flavours.
