The Souvenir Champagne bar

  • 22/11/2019 to 23/11/2019

Veuve Clicquot are opening a pop-up Champagne bar for two-days-only, hosted by none other than award-winning St Vincent!

6a Langley St, London, WC2H 9JA
22/11/2019 to 23/11/2019

World renowned champagne house, Veuve Clicquot are launching their own champagne bar for two-days-only. Promising to be a champagne bar with a difference, the space in Covent Garden will be transformed through the creative vision of the bar’s host, the award-winning and multi-talented St. Vincent.

This part speakeasy, part sensory space will embrace the celebration and pleasure of enjoying a glass of Veuve Clicquot. St. Vincent has brought together fashion, performance, innovative food and playful design to make Souvenir an experience not to be forgotten.

A journey through the sights, sounds, smells and emotion evoked when drinking a glass of Veuve Clicquot, Souvenir will be brought to life with help from a collective of new creators, designers, and mixologists who will collaborate to bring St. Vincent’s unique – and at times surreal – vision to life. Fashion Designer Matty Bovan will create a bespoke costume for St. Vincent as well as working together on key visual details for staff ‘uniforms’. You'll also find a bespoke champagne cocktail in collaboration with Pippa Guy, gastronomy and food pairing by Plates London and playful designs by Rotganzen.

St. Vincent’s role centred around the atmospheric experience of the bar itself, thinking about what people will eat, drink, see and hear. She is also playing with the notion of unexpected characters and appearances, being present in the space and performing roles that can surprise and delight, bringing emotion to the centre of the experience.

Taking her own musical background, St. Vincent has designed Souvenir’s soundscape. It has been created as one of the key elements of the overall experience, serving as a further stimulation of senses, working with a unique mix of sounds designed to trigger a memory and feeling of past, present and future. Layering different sonic and vocal elements that suggest St. Vincent’s own memories including moments of childhood, of landscapes of love and London,  the soundscape provides a compelling backdrop that elevates the entire space. Using the latest sound technology, the soundscape will heighten emotions and change moods which, combined with lighting design, will play a key role in stimulating the creation of guests own new memories – or ‘souvenirs’
