Gosnells Upstairs At Coal Rooms is the buzzing new honey-focused bar from Gosnells, London's only meadery. Located in the old ticket office of Peckham Rye station.

Launching on 8th March 2019, the new ‘Gosnells Upstairs at Coal Rooms’ will focus on their own ferments, including their ‘Original’ and ‘Vintage’ meads, with an ever-changing roster of experimentals including pink hibiscus, salted, hopped, barrel-aged, gooseberry and non-alcoholic. The bar will sit upstairs from Coal Rooms and serve small plates from the restuarant as well.

Meads will be served either singly or as a flight of four or five, alongside a honey-heavy cocktail list... expect to see bee-utiful creations like the ''Peckham Lemonade' made with gin, lemon juice, honey and Gosnells, 'GG's' which muddles dark rum, ginger, lime, honey and you guessed it, Gosnells, as well as some frozen cocktails for the warmer months.

Tom Gosnell himself will also be using this new space for a variety of additional honey activities, including mead masterclasses - we're particular interested in 'Bee to Bottle', which celebrates our favourite fuzzy insect - mead-paired suppers and mead cocktails evenings. Plus if you've still not had enough mead, Tours of the Gosnells Meadery will be held every Saturday at 1pm, priced at £15 for 1.5 hours including a tasting flight back at the upstairs bar.

When asked about the opening, Tom commented, “This is an exciting moment for us, the chance to demonstrate our meads in the heart of Peckham alongside great British dishes. Why have a glass of 12-15% wine when you can gain even greater elegance and just as much flavour from our 5.5% Original Mead."

Available for drinks and waspish light bites such as Peckham Fatboy potatoes with Ogleshild cheese from Somerset, beef fat mayo and crispy onions, Cobble Lane kabano sausage or bone marrow & marmite bread and butter pudding, we expect this to be a popular little Peckham spot.
